DeMar DeRozan credits “veteran leaders” for Bulls’ win vs. Hawks

The Chicago Bulls extended their winning streak to four games by defeating the Atlanta Hawks (130-118) despite missing six players due to injuries and health and safety protocols.

DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic led the Bulls with a combined 89 points. After the game, DeRozan credited the three veteran leaders for stepping up when the team needed them.

“We’re the veteran leaders of this team,” DeRozan said. “That’s our job. We’ve got a couple of key guys out, and it was up to us to step up and play big, especially against an Atlanta Hawks team that was going to come out and play hard. The three main guys did what they were supposed to do and everybody else fell in line.”

Chicago is currently in the second place in the Eastern Conference with 21 wins and 10 losses. They are 1.5 games behind the Brooklyn Nets (23-9).
