Nets head coach Steve Nash expects Kevin Durant to return this week

Kevin Durant could return to the Brooklyn Nets lineup as early as Thursday vs the Philadelphia 76ers, according to head coach Steve Nash.

The All-Star forward entered the protocols on December 18 and missed the Nets’ trip to Los Angeles for the games against the Lakers and Clippers.

However, Nash expects Kevin Durant to be available when the team returns to Brooklyn on Tuesday. “I think there’s a good chance Kevin will be (back with the team),” Nash said Monday, via Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.

The Nets saw the NBA postpone three of their games last week, due to a total of 10 positive Covid-19 cases. Yet, they returned to action on Christmas Day and defeated the Lakers (122-115), remaining on top of the East (22-9).
