The NBA and NBPA have reached an agreement to shorten the quarantine period for the players and staff that have tested positive for Covid-19.
As Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports, the league shortens the quarantine period from 10 to six days for vaccinated players and coaches.
This agreement applies to people that have tested positive for the virus and are asymptomatic. Therefore, if COVID-19 testing data shows they’re no longer at risk to be infectious, players and coaches will clear the protocols in six days.
Following the reduction in quarantine time, several players will most likely clear protocols and return to play sooner. A total of 205 players and six coaches has tested positive for the virus since the start of the season. 195 positive cases have come in December.
