Heat’s Kyle Lowry enters health and safety protocols

Miami will be missing veteran guard Kyle Lowry for the next several games. Lowry has entered NBA’s health and safety protocols, as NBA has more than 100 players in COVID protocols.

Ira Winderman reported that the veteran guard will miss Sunday’s contest against the Orlando Magic. That’s a huge issue for Miami, which lost its starting point guard.

He’s averaging 13.9 points,4.6 rebounds and 8.2 assists in 31 games this season. The Heat will have to rely on Tyler Herro to take over with Lowry out.

The third-year combo guard has a tremendous season so far, putting up 20.9 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. Miami is 20-13 on the season, good for fourth in the Eastern Conference.

Lowry joined Miami this past summer, leaving his beloved Toronto after signing a three-year, $85 million deal.
