Knicks’ veteran guard Kemba Walker showed up for his team during Saturday’s 114-107 loss to the Boston Celtics. Walker dropped 29 points as the New York native showed something off his past All-Star form.

“I know I should be playing,” Walker told reporters after the game. Walker had not played since November 26 prior to Saturday’s game.

Walker also spoke on the injuries he faced the last few seasons during his tenure in Boston, who trade the All-Star in OKC last summer.

“I’ve had a great career thus far, and a lot of things have gone my way. It’s a tough time right now … [but] I feel like I’m built for any situation,” Walker said, per ESPN’s Tim Bontemps.

The Knicks need Walker more than ever as they had several players in the health and safety protocols, while Derrick Rose will be out for eight weeks after undergoing ankle surgery.

The Knicks are now a season-high four games under .500 (13-17), after the loss to Boston as they have had many ups and downs through the season so far.

However, Walker’s resurgence could provide some optimism as the Knicks are hoping to make another playoff push after last season’s effort.
