A three-game winning streak by the Los Angeles Lakers was followed by a three-game losing streak as they were defeated by the Phoenix Suns. Despite missing players and going through a difficult stretch of the season, Russell Westbrook is optimistic about his team.

“I’m very optimistic,” Westbrook, who had 22 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists, said postgame. “We’ve been through so much as a team already and still going through it as a unit. The best part about for me thus far is just all the ups and downs that’s the NBA season.

“The most important part is that we stay together, never divide, never panic, never succumb to what people outside of our team are saying and just make sure that we stay close knit and find the ways to stick together whatever it is because we are a team that doesn’t rely on excuses. We understand that circumstance that we have in our locker room and we got to make the best of it. As simple as that.
