Austin Rivers honest reaction to COVID-ridden Brooklyn Nets

The game between the Denver Nuggets and the Brooklyn Nets was postponed, as the New York squad was unable to put up eight players on the floor with several players being out due to COVID protocols and injuries.

Austin Rivers claimed he only knew three players of the Nets’ team before the NBA decided to postpone the game alongside another four matchups on Sunday.

“You should’ve seen the Nets team that we were playing tonight. Patty Mills, Blake Griffin, Cam Thomas were the only ones we knew,” Rivers said on his IG live, per Mike Singer of Denver Post.

Currently, Brooklyn has their MVP, primary playmaker, and pretty much their entire starting lineup in quarantine. Nets acquired several players through hardship exemption.

In addition, they decided to bring Kyrie Irving back part-time, but he was also sidelined due to similar reasons. As a result, Rivers was not sure what the game plan was in defense against the Nets’ roster.

Rivers currently averages 4.3 points on 36.8 percent from the field this season. Several long-term injuries led head coach Mike Malone to upgrade Rivers’ role.
