DeMar DeRozan exploded 38 points as he led the Chicago Bulls to a narrow win over the Los Angeles Lakers. The four-time NBA All-Star, who nearly joined the purple and gold this past offseason, did not shoot a simple three-pointer.
The Lakers were without Anthony Davis and had their newcomer Isaiah Thomas start the game in a new lineup. Despite missing a bunch of players due to injuries and health and safety protocols, Los Angeles managed to stay close for the entire game.
According to Lakers great James Worthy, it was one of the best games that his former team has played so far this season. “I thought the Lakers overall.. this was one of the better games of the season as far as I’m concerned,” he said on Spectrum SportsNet.
“They’ll look at it and figure out how to get offensive rebounds not give up offensive rebounds and when they play good 24-second defense, you got to get that ball. They were just a little short. I was very satisfied with what I saw.”
