Lakers rookie Austin Reaves made a big play for the purple and gold by hitting a game-winning three against the Mavericks. He finished the game with 15 points, all of them were scored by making three-pointers (5/6).

James Worthy, who won three NBA championships as a Laker, thinks that the final play of the game was the ultimate team building episode which reminded him of Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls.

“It says a lot about his character and what he means to a team,” Worthy said on Spectrum SportsNet. “Very likeable person. When they went to Vegas on that trip, obviously something came out about his personality, his willingness to be a team player. And that’s even without seeing a lot of play.

“I think that #15 jersey is going up on sale, there’s going to be a lot of sales of that jersey tomorrow after this shot. To me this is the ultimate team building process. The Lakers have been struggling, reminds of one time during a timeout Chicago Bulls were playing and Michael [Jordan] knew that they were going to double-team him, he said ‘Kerr be ready! Be ready! I’m coming to you!’ that’s what it’s all about. That’s what this reminds me of.

“Westbrook obviously had hit that big three before but they moved the ball very well that last play, executed very well, pump-fake drive. Five for six, he only shot three threes tonight. The kid can shoot, he can play. Did a lot of other things in the intangible department on the defensive end that a coach just loves. But knocking down that just I’m just very happy for him and the team. They grinded it out in an overtime game and they got what they needed.”
