Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry came two three-pointers short of breaking Ray Allen’s record in a win over the Indiana Pacers. The 33-year-old point guard is expected to break the record tonight against the New York Knicks.
Curry will have to wait a little longer before making history, but he is already sensing it. “I’m enjoying the moment, knocking on the doorstep. It’s pretty surreal,” he said via ESPN. “You just keep playing basketball, taking shots you think you can make and enjoy the experience.”
The three-time NBA champion attempted 15 three-pointers against the Pacers, but made only five of them. Curry has made 2,972 three-pointers during his career so far and is just a single three-pointer behind Allen.
It should be noted that it took the Hall of Famer 1,300 games to score 2,973 three-pointers whereas Curry caught him with just 788 games under his belt.
