Devin Booker shares optimistic update on hamstring injury

Phoenix Suns superstar Devin Booker shared the good news on his hamstring injury, despite missing the fifth consecutive game of his team on Monday.

Booker strained his hamstring in the first half of a Nov. 30 win over the Golden State Warriors. He’s still some games away before getting the green light to participate in full-contact practices.

“Hammy feels good, man,” said Booker, per AZ Central. “Just getting back right. Finally back out on the court doing some things. I’ve just been lifting prior to that. Feeling good back out on the court during shootaround. That’s always a plus.”

“I think once we get back to Phoenix and be able to get on the court and get some up and down and just check all the boxes,” Booker, who battled hamstring injuries during last season, noted.

“I’ve just been in shootaround and stationary shooting for the most part,” he continued. The Suns have a pretty packed schedule the rest of this month until Jan.11.

The Suns have had several injuries already this season. Cameron Payne, Deandre Ayton, Landry Shamet, Frank Kaminski, and Abdel Nader are all missed games due to injuries.

Getting to face the Clippers, the Suns are entering the contest with NBA’s best record (21-4), being at 3-1 without Booker going into Monday’s game.
