Philadelphia 76ers split the series with the Golden State Warriors after getting a 93-102 victory Saturday night. The Sixers were able to maintain their composure in the last quarter and return from a 13-point deficit to win the game.

“Yeah, the bench, what, they came in down 12? I think. That was great. Just the defense. But the bench energy offensively. I thought defensively we were good the entire night,” Doc Rivers said.

“We didn’t mess up. I think we messed up one switch the entire night. That’s hard to do with all the stuff that they run. But then we got sluggish offensively. And give that to Golden State, they’re a great defensive team. They put pressure on us. Took us out of our stuff, and I thought that second unit got us moving again.”

The Sixers’ defense was the key on Saturday night, as they kept Steph Curry from causing havoc on the offensive end. The Warriors’ superstar shot 3 of 14 from the three-point range.

“Yeah, I think that they did a really good job, gotta give them credit, their defense was good, but ultimately I think we got good looks, and we missed them,” Draymond Green said on the 76ers’ effort.

“Curry was largely shut down by Matisse Thybulle, who made just his sixth start of the season. The Warriors were held under the 100-point mark for the second time this season.

“Playing hard. But seriously, just having guys willing to let me take on that one-on-one matchup and play the rest of the team four-on-four,” Matisse Thybulle said on his defensive effort against the Warriors.

“And be able to over-rotate and get into a lot of really tough rotational situations on defense. And put out a lot of fires to allow me to just stay to the body and not let Steph get anything easy.”

The Warriors dropped to 21-5, falling a half-game behind Phoenix for the NBA lead. Philadelphia improved to 15-12 with its third consecutive victory.
