San Antonio Spurs became just the fourth team to win the Golden State Warriors this season, as they withheld a wild second-half comeback from the “Dubs”.

Curry finished with a game-high 27 points but got off to a slow start against the Spurs’ defense. San Antonio held Curry to 1-of-11 shooting in the first half; however, the things changed in the second half.

He scored 17 second-half points and even helped give the Warriors a lead late in the fourth quarter. Gregg Popovich talked on Curry’s second half explosion as his team held off to get a 112-107 win at Chase Center.

“I thought we did well until he decided to do what he wanted to do, and then he did what he wanted to do way better than anything we wanted to do. That’s who he is,” the veteran coach said, per Mark Haynes of Clutchpoints.

The Spurs claimed their 8th victory in the first 21 games as they improved to 8-13. The Warriors dropped to 19-4 as they claimed a blowout victory over the Suns Friday before the loss to San Antonio.
