Sacramento Kings head coach Alvin Gentry did not hold back after his team’s loss to the Los Angeles Lakers. The Kings could not hold a 14-point lead in the third quarter at Golden 1 Center.

By the 10:58 mark of the fourth quarter, however, the Kings trailed 92-74 and lost by 25, 117-92. Gentry called Kings’ second-half performance an ’embarrassment’.

(via NBC Sports Bay Area):

“The second half was a disaster and it was an embarrassment, and as the coach of this team, I want to apologize to every Kings fan out there because you do not deserve this. You deserve much, much better and we’ll find guys who give you better,” Gentry said on the post-game presser.

The Kings now are 2-3 under Alvin Gentry, and are still searching for answers as to how they can get this season back on track, after the firing of Luke Walton.

The Lakers outscored Sacramento in the second half, as they scored 67 points through the two final quarters. On the other side, the Kings put just 33 to conclude a disastrous second half.

The Lakers played without LeBron, who has entered the NBA COVID protocols. However, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook took over in the second half to lead the Lakers to an important win.
