Russell Westbrook: “One thing I live by is never, never, never panic”

The struggles of the Los Angeles Lakers continued as they lost against the Sacramento Kings in overtime despite having a 13-point lead in the fourth quarter.

One of the top performers for the losers was Russell Westbrook, who had a triple double of 29 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists. After the game, he talked about the difficulties the Lakers are facing early in the season and his own mentality.

“I don’t think it’s dramatic for us internally. We know, like AD said, we got a sense of urgency but we also understand adversity, bumps in the road,” Westbrook said postgame.

“One thing I live by is never, never, never panic. Don’ panic. Stick with each other, never spread out at times like this, regardless of what people may think outside of our locker room, of how quickly they think we should be playing this way, that way. It’s a long year.

“But also just reiterate what AD said, we do have to have a sense of urgency of taking care of home wins and winning games we’re supposed to win.”
