Dallas Mavericks are hoping to keep their current core around Luka Doncic for the seasons to come. As a result, they express confidence on keeping Jalen Brunson and Dorian Finney-Smith, who will be unrestricted free agents this summer, per NBA insider Marc Stein (h/t HoopsHype).

Brunson, 25, is set to hit free agency this summer after signing a four-year, $6M deal as a rookie in 2018. The Villanova product was selected with the 33rd overall pick in the 2018 draft.

Brunson is on pace to record a career-season this year. He’s averaging 15.1 points, 4.4 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game while shooting 49.3 percent from the field and 33.9 percent from deep.

Dorian Finney-Smith has also improved his game throughout the six seasons he played for Dallas. The defensive specialist is averaging 8.9 points and 4.7 rebounds in 19 games this year.

The Mavs are fourth in the Western Conference this season with a 10-7 record. They are hoping to have a better season finish than the last two, after being a first-round playoff exit in two consecutive seasons.
