Clippers cancel shootaround due to health and safety protocols

The Los Angeles Clippers had to cancel shootaround Tuesday morning for precautionary reasons involving COVID-19 health and safety protocols.

However, the Clippers’ game tonight against the Dallas Mavericks at 10:30 p.m. ET shouldn’t be affected, a team spokesman told Mirjam Swanson of The Orange County Register.

Veteran forward Nicolas Batum was a late scratch before the team’s game against the Mavericks on Nov. 21 after entering the league’s health and safety protocols.

While it’s unclear if the 32-year-old tested positive, he is expected to miss at least 10 days, according to Shams Charania.

“I’m not sure the days, but I expect him to be out for (a while),” said head coach Tyronn Lue. “I’m not sure the timetable, though.”

Before the season, Lue said that all Clippers’ players were vaccinated.
