LaMarcus Aldridge reveals he is still struggling in new role with the Nets

LaMarcus Aldridge is still adjusting to his new role with the Brooklyn Nets, as he is competing for his first NBA championship.

Aldridge was forced to retire a few months ago, due to heart issues. However, he was medically cleared to return and signed with the Nets in offseason.

Coming off the bench for the first time in his career, Aldridge admits he still needs time to get used to his new role in the Brooklyn squad.

“It’s very difficult. You’ve been one type of player or a certain type of player your whole career. It’s definitely different coming off the bench and not playing much.

So it’s been difficult. I’m still trying to figure it out and navigate it and find my spots. And I’m just trying to find my ways to try and help out.

It’s an ongoing battle. It’s not, you fix it and it’s done. You still have moments where it’s still tough to not be out there at times, and it’s still tough to not start at times. But I came back to win, and I wanted to be here and try to win it all. So, if that’s my role, it is what it is,” the veteran big man said, via The New York Post.

LaMarcus Aldridge is averaging 12.9 points and 5.4 rebounds in 21 minutes of action in the first 16 games of the Nets in the season. He also had 21 points (10/14 shooting) and 11 rebounds in Brooklyn’s 117-112 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday. The Nets are on top of the East with a 13-5 record.
