It was NBA deadline day as regular season restarts later. We already know that Goran Dragic has moved from the desert city of Phoenix to stunning South Beach, but where did everyone else go? We will give you the rundown.

TRADE DEADLINE DAY (UPDATED 23:07 CET)

KG GOES HOME

Via ESPN:

Garnett agreed to drop his no-trade clause and accept a trade from the Brooklyn Nets to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Thaddeus Young, his agent confirmed Thursday on Twitter.

The move affords Garnett the chance to play out what might be his 20th and final NBA season as a member of the team that drafted him out of high school in 1995 — and under longtime coach Flip Saunders.

CARTER-WILLIAMS HEADS TO BUCKS

Via ESPN:

The Milwaukee Bucks, Philadelphia 76ers and Phoenix Suns have agreed to a three-team trade that would send Brandon Knight to Phoenix, Michael Carter-Williams, Miles Plumlee and Tyler Ennis to Milwaukee and draft picks to Philadelphia, a source told ESPN’s Marc Stein.

Carter-Williams, the reigning rookie of the year, has struggled from long range this season. He has the second-worst three-point percentage among those who have taken at least 100 3’s (25.6 percent) and the third-lowest effective field goal percentage of anyone taking at least 10 shots per game, according to ESPN’s Stats & Information.

REGGIE JACKSON IS NOW A PISTON

Reggie Jackson leaves Oklahoma City Thunder and heads East to the Detroit Pistons.

Via ESPN:

The Thunder will acquire Utah Jazz center Enes Kanter and forward Steve Novak, Pistons forward Kyle Singler and guard D.J. Augustin, with Thunder center Kendrick Perkins going to the Jazz, in addition to Grant Jerrett, draft rights to Tibor Pleiss, a protected future first-rounder from the Thunder and a Pistons second-round pick.

According to a source, Perkins is set to be bought out by the Jazz, with potential suitors being the Clippers or Cavaliers.

Yahoo! Sports first reported the deal.

Jackson, 24, has expressed desire for a starting role, but with the inability to get it in Oklahoma City, his agent requested a trade. Jackson is set to be a restricted free agent this summer and is in search of a contract near the max. Jackson is averaging 12.8 points and 4.3 assists in 28.0 minutes per game, but has seen his playing time significantly dip since the Thunder added Dion Waiters in January.

CELTICS LAND ISAIAH THOMAS

Via ESPN:

Boston acquired Thomas in exchange for Marcus Thornton and the Cleveland Cavaliers’ 2016 first-round draft pick, sources told ESPN.com’s Jeff Goodman.

Boston sent Prince to the Detroit team he spent most of his career with in exchange for Jonas Jerebko and Luigi Datome, sources told ESPN.com’s Marc Stein.

Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge had said Thursday morning that Boston was “all over the map” while examining possibilities as a buyer, seller or facilitator. For much of the early afternoon, it looked as if Boston might endure its third tradeless deadline in four years, but the Celtics finished with a bang.

Ainge had made Thomas a free-agent target this past summer before he landed with the Suns. With an overstocked backcourt and a disgruntled Goran Dragic, Phoenix overhauled its backcourt Thursday. The Suns traded Dragic to the Miami Heat and shipped Thomas to the Celtics as Boston pounced on a player it coveted.

Thomas signed a modest four-year, $27 million contract this past summer that decreases in value each season. In the hours leading up to the deadline, Ainge had noted, “We’re also looking to acquire players that are already under contract. We really don’t want to get rid of multiple draft picks for players with uncertainty in the free-agent market — a situation like we were in with [Rajon] Rondo. … We’re looking for more certainty.”

AFFLALO IS OREGON BOUND

 Via ESPN:

The Portland Trail Blazers acquired Arron Afflalo from the Denver Nuggets on Thursday in a package involving five players and a first-round draft pick.

The Blazers will send Thomas Robinson, Will Barton, Victor Claver and a lottery-protected first-round pick to the Nuggets for Afflalo and Alonzo Gee.

The first-round pick sent to the Nuggets is lottery-protected in 2016 and 2017. It becomes two future second-round picks if the Blazers miss the playoffs in each of those seasons.

“Arron is a proven winner with playoff experience who will be easily integrated into our culture,” Trail Blazers president of basketball operations Neil Olshey said in a statement. “He possesses a skill set that complements our style of play on both ends of the floor and will make an immediate impact as we continue our playoff push.

“Alonzo is an elite athlete and defender who adds a unique element to our perimeter.”

JEROME KERSEY PASSES AWAY

Former Portland TrailBlazers fan favourite Jerome Kersey has passed away, aged 52.

Dr. Larry Lewman of the state medical examiner’s office told The Associated Press on Thursday that a blood clot traveled from Kersey’s left calf to his lungs and caused a pulmonary thromboembolism. The Trail Blazers didn’t provide details.

Via ESPN:

A team ambassador, Kersey appeared Tuesday with fellow former Blazers Terry Porter and Brian Grant at Madison High School in Portland in celebration of African American History Month.

“Today we lost an incredible person and one of the most beloved players to ever wear a Trail Blazers uniform,” Blazers owner Paul Allen said in a statement. “My thoughts and condolences are with the Kersey family. He will be missed by all of us. It’s a terrible loss.”

Kersey, a 6-foot-7 small forward, was a starter on Portland’s 1990 and 1992 NBA Finals teams. He was a second-round draft pick in 1984 and spent his first 11 seasons in Portland, playing alongside the likes of Hall of Famer Clyde Drexler, Kiki Vandeweghe and Porter. Kersey played for five other NBA teams, winning a championship with San Antonio in 1999. He retired from the NBA in 2001.

“It is so sad,” Drexler told Comcast SportsNet Northwest upon hearing the news. “It is a huge loss for the Portland community. He was the greatest guy, the nicest friend, teammate and brother. He was loved by everyone. We will all miss him. He just cared so much. This is unbelievable.”

At the time of his retirement, Kersey ranked second on the Blazers’ all-time list in games played (831) and rebounds (5,078), and third in blocked shots (621) and steals (1,059). All told, he played in 1,153 NBA games for Portland, Golden State, the Lakers, Seattle, San Antonio and Milwaukee, averaging 10.3 points and 5.5 rebounds.
