Kyle Lowry reveals plan when he decides to retire

Recently signed Miami Heat guard Kyle Lowry revealed his retirement plan and his potential homecoming to Toronto, adding that the city remains his home.

Lowry spoke to Marc J Spears of the Undefeated about his future, joining the Miami Heat last summer, and how he expects his career to end, talking about the Toronto Raptors.

Kyle Lowry has had a pretty successful tenure with the Toronto Raptors. In his nine years with them, Lowry was a 6x All-Star, an All-NBA pick in 2015–16. More importantly, he brought to the franchise its first-ever championship in 2019.

“Everybody says you could just live in Canada, but you’d have to get a Canadian citizenship to live there. And I don’t think I would’ve lived there for the rest of my life.

“But I’ll be able to go back. That’s still home. Like I’ve said, and I’ll say it now, I will sign a one-day contract and I’ll retire as a Toronto Raptor. That is my everything,” Lowry said.

He averaged 17.5 points, 7.1 assists and 4.9 rebounds during his time in Toronto and played a key role in the franchise’s lone title in 2019. Lowry also created a beautiful bond with the city off the court during his nine-year tenure.
