The Sacramento Kings maintain their position as the NBA’s current worst franchise — being unable to capitalize any rebuilding seasons and convert them to a single playoff appearance since 2006.
As such, as they are currently holding a 6-8 card and the 10th place in the Western Conference, the Kings might make necessary changes to pull themselves up — before it’s too late once again to slash the miserable record that is presently tagged in their name.
With that being said, things are getting chippy within the hub of Sac-town and there could be a rising sense of urgency to commit for a transaction — as concerns about the backcourt tandem of De’Aaron Fox and Tyrese Haliburton are swirling.
Provided by Sam Amick and Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Kings continue to increase their doubts whether Fox and Haliburton would mesh up moving forward — as the franchise point guard is currently seeing a huge decline on his scoring numbers if compared to last season.
“No issue has been more glaring than the struggles of franchise centerpiece De’Aaron Fox, who has had a major decline in production (25.2 points per game last season to 19.8 this season) and efficiency (47.7 percent overall to 41 this season; 32.2 percent from 3 to 23). His comfort level in the starting lineup with second-year guard Tyrese Haliburton is, it would seem, fast becoming an early concern.”

Haliburton is performing like what he used to since his rookie year as he is currently averaging 13.4 markers, 3.8 boards and 5.6 assists, but the second-year pro might be viewed as a distraction on what should be an All-star year that Fox is projected to have prior the season.
And, on the other hand, if ever the Kings would stick their eyes on Fox’s sustaining underperformances and decide to cut it up, there are plenty of trade ideas to present — most notably a swapping with the Philadelphia 76ers disgruntled star Ben Simmons.
Time will tell that this franchise will possibly risk it all after seasons of turmoil and disappointments. Nevertheless, the league’s 75th season is still in its early stages, and who knows if this promising backcourt will turn things around for the greater good of Sacramento basketball.
