Luka Doncic will likely miss some time with an ankle issue after sustaining an injury late in the Mavs’ Monday win against the Denver Nuggets, per ESPN’s Tim MacMahon.
Doncic underwent tests on both his ankle and knee, which showed no damage, reports The Athletic’s Shams Charania. As a result, he is considered “day-to-day” by the Dallas Mavericks.
The 22-year-old left the contest against Denver with 44 seconds remaining after Nuggets guard Austin Rivers inadvertently fell on the back of his leg.
Doncic is expected to miss Wednesday’s game against the Suns, but he followed his team to Phoenix, as the Mavs will play two consecutive games in the “Valley of the Sun”.
The two-time All-Star is registering 24.9 points, 8.3 rebounds, 7.9 assists, and 1.3 steals per game this season through 13 contests.
