Baskonia part ways with Dusko Ivanovic due “to poor run of results”

Baskonia parted ways with head coach Dusko Ivanovic “due to poor run of results”, the club announced Monday. Ivanovic, 64, has served as the head coach of the club since 2019.

The Basques have made a slow start to the 2021-22 season in the EuroLeague and Liga Endesa. The club is ranked third to last in the EuroLeague standings with a 3-6 record and 11th in the Spanish Liga Endesa with a 4-6 record.

Ivanovic previously coached Baskonia from 2000 to 2005 and again from 2008 to 2012. He led the club to three of its four Spanish League titles, with the first two coming in 2002 and 2010.

He also coached Baskonia to the EuroLeague Finals in 2001 and to the EuroLeague championship game in 2005. He also led the team to its first title in years during the 2019-2020 season.
