Warriors reportedly not willing to give up James Wiseman, Jonathan Kuminga in potential trade for Ben Simmons

Golden State Warriors are not willing to give up any young players in a potential trade deal for the Philadelphia 76ers’ star Ben Simmons.

Appearing on the HoopsHype Podcast, Anthony Slater of The Athletic said it’s hard to “see a fit with the Warriors” for Simmons.

The “Dubs” value both Jonathan Kuminga and James Wiseman more than other teams now. Kuminga was the seventh overall pick of the 2021 NBA draft.

Wiseman, who is expected to make his comeback from injury this year, was the second overall pick of the 2020 NBA draft.

“If you are trading with the Warriors, you’re pretty much saying give me one or both of the young lottery picks. Joe Lacob has this dream that goes beyond this season,” Slater said.

“It’s about the next decade and this idea of continued relevance. He values Kuminga and Wiseman and their futures more than other teams do right now. That’s where there’s a line of demarcation and why I don’t see a fit with the Warriors.”
