The Washington Wizards and its rising star Rui Hachimura took a huge leap towards their connection this season.

As per team insider Quinton Mayo, Hachimura’s workout today was the first time that his teammates have seen him putting up in the gym. Mayo also noted from his sources that the Japanese cager had meaningful moments being with the leaders of D.C.

Last September, the Wizards permitted Hachimura to have an excused absence due to personal reasons, causing him to miss the team’s training camp. He even unfollowed nearly everyone on his Instagram account during the said hiatus.

Rumors are swirling, and many have speculated within the Wizards squad that Hachimura’s absence is connected to Japan men’s basketball shortcomings in the last Tokyo Olympics, going winless in the tourney.

Troy Haliburton of Washington City Paper recently reported that the former Gonzaga Bulldog is working out individually with the Wiz and reporting to the practice facility regularly. But now, as his teammates have seen him doing the work, a breath of relief for the fans as this could signal the return of the explosive forward.

The Wizards are set to snap the four-game winning streak of Toronto Raptors tomorrow.
