Jarrett Allen says he wants teams to know ‘they’re going to have a fight on their hands’ when playing the Cavs

The Cleveland Cavaliers are playing much improved basketball compared to the last few seasons, as the club brought in talented new pieces and returned players in their prime.

Cleveland added Evan Mobley, Lauri Markkanen, and Ricky Rubio to go along with established players like Collin Sexton, Jarrett Allen, Darius Garland, Kevin Love, Cedi Osman, and Isaac Okoro.

The roster has resulted in a 4-4 record early on with impressive wins against the Atlanta Hawks, Denver Nuggets and Charlotte Hornets. Starting center Jarrett Allen said on Monday that teams better be ready for a competitive battle because the Cavs aren’t an easy win anymore.

“We want to go into these games with people knowing they’re going to have a fight on their hands,” Allen said. “Over the past few years it’s been like, ‘Oh, it’s the Cavs, it’s an off night.’ I’m just being honest, that’s how people looked at us. But now we want people to look at us and say, ‘We need to bring our A game.’”
