Damian Lillard appreciates Sixers home crowd chants: ‘They showed me love’

After a 113-103 tough road loss to the undermanned Philadelphia 76ers, Portland Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard was asked about the “We want Lillard!” chants that Philly fans shouted inside the Wells Fargo Center while he was shooting in the charity stripe.

The star guard seems to appreciate the warm gesture based on his words, as per Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated.

“the City of Brotherly Love … they showed me love.”

But the six-time All-star clarified that he will always be a part of the Rip City, amidst the cheer that the crowd made for him.

Dame continues to have a rough shooting in this 2021-2022 campaign, tallying 20 points via ice-cold 7-of-20 shooting splits and 10 assists in the said match. In six games so far with the Blazers, he is averaging 18.3 markers in a chilling 34 percent efficiency, the worst in his career.

Way back last offseason, Lillard and Ben Simmons swap are amongst the hot topics, yet it didn’t happen. The Oakland native announced for the past few weeks that he has no plans to leave Portland. Meanwhile, Simmons continues to do some workout with the Sixers and had a good shooting time today as per head coach Doc Rivers.

The two teams are set for a regular season rematch on November 20.
