Jayson Tatum says he talked to Bradley Beal about joining Boston Celtics

Boston Celtics tried to bring a third star alongside Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown without any kind of success until now. Jayson Tatum admitted he tried to convince Wizards’ Bradley Beal to join him in Boston.

Speaking to Abby Chin of NBC Sports Boston, Tatum said he’s talked to the Washington Wizards star about the possibility of teaming up at some point.

However, Beal has repeatedly denied any possibility of leaving Washington now, despite having the ability to become a free agent after this season.

The Wizards have made a great start this season, winning five of their first six regular-season games. On the other side, the Celtics seem to need more depth and star power in their team this year, having made a 2-4 start to the season.

Tatum leads the Celtics in scoring average (26.6 points per game) in five starts this season. Beal has a $36.4 million player option on his contract for the 2022-23 campaign.

The Wizards’ superstar averaged 21.5 points, 4.5 assists, and 6.0 rebounds per game in four games.
