Nikola Jokic’s knee status brings sigh of relief to the Denver Nuggets

Nikola Jokic will not be missing significant time with a knee injury, which occurred during Denver’s Tuesday matchup vs. the Utah Jazz. He’s expected to be questionable for Friday’s game vs. Dallas.

The reigning MVP was diagnosed with a right knee contusion, following a knee-to-knee collision with Rudy Gobert. According to the Nuggets’ beat writer Mike Singer, “there’s nothing structurally wrong” with Jokic’s knee.

The 2020-21 MVP limped off to the locker room minutes later, before he was eventually ruled out. Mike Malone eventually decided to sit the superstar big for the second half of the game.

Coming off the best season of his career, Jokic started off by averaging 26.8 points, 13.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists through the first four games of the regular season.
