Rockets’ Jalen Green nabs historic feats in loss vs. Celtics; Amazed as he tied Michael Jordan in a remarkable record

In a 107-97 losing effort against the Boston Celtics, Houston Rockets first year man Jalen Green had a wonderful dance in his home turf — showing some glimpse of what he can further achieve moving forward as the core piece of Space City hoops.

After submitting an incredible scoring output, he tied basketball legend Michael Jordan for games needed by a player to register their first 30-point performance in the NBA at three.

Asked for his sentiment regarding the achievement, the 19-year-old was beyond amazed and humbled upon hearing that MJ did that first from the past — way back in 1984 when the icon had 37 against the Milwaukee Bucks.

“That’s crazy. I don’t really know — that’s just a crazy thing to hear. Michael Jordan did it in three? That’s lit.”

To add further to the historic night, the young sensation from California became the youngest player to tally 30 markers and eight three-pointers in a single game. He also tied fellow upcoming phenoms Trae Young and Anthony Edwards in a rookie record of most threes made.

The brightest side of the rebuilding H-town, more special things are bound to happen for this talented teenager from G-League Ignite. With immense talent, explosive athleticism, and NBA-ready intangibles, he will be ready for takeoff sooner than later.

Green and the Rockets will travel to Dallas to set a face-off against state rival Mavericks on Tuesday.
