The Los Angeles Lakers ended an eight-game losing streak, if preseason games are counted, by narrowly defeating the Memphis Grizzlies (121-118) at Staples Center. The winners got a big boost off the bench as Carmelo Anthony dropped a team-high 28 points.
According to seven-time NBA champion Robert Horry, the game was weird as the Lakers starters were all minuses while the Grizzlies were all pluses.
“This was a weird game. Every Memphis starter was a plus, every Lakers starter was a minus but the Lakers bench came through,” Horry said on Spectrum SportsNet.
