Frank Voges shares his thoughts on Kent Bazemore’s performance vs Grizzlies

Lakers newcomer Kent Bazemore was given a difficult task of guarding Ja Morant in game against the Grizzlies. The Memphis guard exploded with 40 points and was close to leading his team to a win, but it was the purple and gold that came out as winners.

After the game, Lakers head coach Frank Vogel was asked to share his thoughts what he saw from Bazemore and his defense against Morant. “He’s been great for us. Really competes and has great athleticism and length on the defensive side of the ball,” he said.

“He was competing, doing his best he could on Ja [Morant]. We didn’t bring help early enough on a lot of situations. But he’s going to get that assignment each night for our team. We feel good about what he can bring to the table and also the spacing that he gives us offensively. He hit a huge three when we were struggling a couple possessions. I think it was the fourth quarter. Good on both sides of the ball.”
