Dwight Howard resolves issue with Anthony Davis: “That’s my brother”

Dwight Howard formally addressed the issue that he had with Anthony Davis.

In a postgame interview, the 35-year-old veteran said that they formally fixed what was broken after the chippy situation and encouraged people not to overreact about the misunderstanding that took place.

“We squashed it right and there. We just had a disagreement about something that was on the floor. We’re both very passionate about winning, we didn’t want to lose this game. We’re grown men. Things happen. But we already talked, we squashed it. There is no issue between me and him and that’s my brother.”

“So we’re good, we squashed it. There’s no need to try to make it a bigger issue or something else.”

About the thoughts of frustration within, Howard said that they just want to win and figure things out together as a team.

“So we’re gonna get it together. There’s no doubt in my mind that we’re gonna end up being the team we’re supposed to be, but you’ve got to crawl before you walk. You can’t just come in and expect to win because we are the Lakers and we’ve got some of the best basketball players in the world. We’re going to win when we come together and figure it out as a team.”

During their regular season game against the Phoenix Suns, the two big men were arguing and then separated by their teammates after an altercation.

Now sliding at the 0-2 record, the Lakers will try to etch their first win since Game 3 of their first round matchup against the Suns last 2021 Playoffs on Sunday vs. Memphis Grizzlies.
