Pat Riley narrates Jimmy Butler’s sheer determination to bounce back this season: ‘He wasn’t happy’

Blazing from a productive layoff in which they saw the acquisition of star point man Kyle Lowry and bruisers P.J. Tucker and Markieff Morris, the Miami Heat are determined for a title run in the 75th season of the league.

But there’s no other Heat lifer who is much more willing to fight just to reach the basketball crown than their lead man, Jimmy Butler.

Speaking in front of the local media, Heat President Pat Riley is a witness of Butler’s vengeful motives, saying the five-time All-star is looking to bounce back after a painful collapse from the last postseason.

The lackluster performance of Butler against the eventual champion Milwaukee Bucks in the first round of 2020 postseason was heavily scrutinized all over the NBA’s landscape. The 32-year-old star swingman tallied a poor 14.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 7.0 assists average while shooting an inconsistent 29 percent from the field. The Heat were kicked out early by the Bucks via four-game sweep, leaving the fans disappointed in what could be an exciting, dog fight series.

The Heat will face the Bucks for their season opener at home on Thursday.
