Last season, LeBron James had to deal with an ankle injury which limited him to just 45 regular season games — his lowest during 18 years in the NBA. Lakers’ first round playoff exit gave him extra time to spend on recovering his ankle.

As the four-time NBA champion revealed, he was not involved in basketball activities for the first two months of the summer in order to heal which was very rare for him.

“It took a while. It took a while,” James said. “I didn’t do much basketball stuff for probably the first two months of the summer which is very rare for me because my ankle wasn’t responding how I would like it for to respond.

“The best thing about the summertime is I had time. I had time to really just give an opportunity to get ready when my ankle was ready to go I was always training. I wasn’t on the basketball court but I was always doing other stuff training, pushing, seeing things I could do with my ankle until I got to a point where I didn’t feel any sharp pains anymore or my flexibility was back to where it was before. That’s when I knew I could back on the floor.”
