FC Barcelona and Olympiacos square off on Wednesday in a battle between two of the five undefeated EuroLeague teams.

The two powerhouses remain perfect after the end of the first two EuroLeague rounds and want to continue that way after Round 3.

At Palau Blaugrana, the Catalans will seek to extend their unbeaten streak to nine games. They have won their first six Liga Endesa games and play very well on both ends. Big man Sertac Sanli remains out with an ankle injury.

On the contrary, the “Reds” have made an impressive start to the competition. Thanks to a couple of convincing performances, Olympiacos dominated Baskonia and rallied past Real Madrid, protecting its home court.

Now, they travel to Spain to face one of the grand favorites for the EuroLeague championship. “It’s maybe one of the most difficult games we have to play the whole season, given the dynamics of the opponent and the fact that we play on the road,” head coach Giorgos Bartzokas told reporters on Tuesday.

For their part, FC Barcelona are preparing for a tough fight and expect Olympiacos to play very well defensively. “They have come back, they play hard and have an experienced roster,” head coach Sarunas Jasikevicius noted.

This will be a battle between the best offensive and defensive lines in the EuroLeague. FC Barcelona scores 88 points per game, on 59% three-point shooting. On the contrary, Olympiacos concedes just 59 points and allows its opponents to shoot with just 14.6% from beyond the arc.

The winner of the game will join ASVEL Villeurbanne and Armani Milano as the only undefeated teams in the EuroLeague.
