Derrick Rose on tweaking his ankle on Knicks’ preseason game: “It’s nothing serious”

New York Knicks veteran guard Derrick Rose left his team’s preseason game vs. the Washington Wizards with one minute left due to an ankle issue.

The Knicks were able to take a 117-99 win over Washington, with Rose having a decent stat line of 15 points in 19 minutes of play.

“It’s nothing serious at all, but if I kept playing I probably would’ve made it worse,’’ Rose said, per New York Post. “I think I probably did it myself.

It’s the second game – all this is new, moving around, Thibs training camps are different. I just have to take my time. I’m getting older. I tweaked it but didn’t twist it all the way. Thibs understood [when I took myself out].’’

As it seems, it was a precautionary move for the veteran guard, who had his share of serious injuries throughout his career. Rose’s return to New York had served the veteran well as he provides leadership to a relatively young group of players.
