After ten years with the San Antonio Spurs, Patty Mills joined the Brooklyn Nets. The Australian point guard signed with a team that has a star in his position – Kyrie Irving.

But, it seems that Mills will get more opportunities to start for the Nets in their home games. Due to Irving’s refusal to take Covid vaccine, he will have to sit out games in New York which paves the way to Mills to take the starting point guard role.

The 33-year-old point guard is used to coming off the bench as he started just 57 out of 739 NBA games that he has played in his career so far.

Via Kristian Winfield of New York Daily News:

“I don’t think my role — my role’s gonna be the same no matter what happens in the future,” Mills continued. “I think that’s understood, just controlling what I can control on the court and going about my business like I’ve always done. I’ve made the most of my opportunities that way.”
