With a complete revamp of the Los Angeles Lakers roster that took place this past offseason, the team had to make a new system in order to utilize the players that are on the roster. One of the notable changes is the addition of Russell Westbrook who takes the starting point guard position and relieves LeBron James of his playmaking duties.

“We’re pretty much got a whole new offensive system this year that we’ve been working through over our practices,” James said after the loss to the Golden State Warriors. “Training camp started, like I said, it’s an adjustment for all of us offensively just having guys in different positions, having guys in different places on the floor with our new look and what we’re trying to do.

“Like I said, it’s going to be a process for us. But I think it will be better off in the long run. It keeps the ball moving from one side to another, moving the ball not that much with the dribble but with the pass.

“Obviously, we got downhill attackers in Russ, K-Nunn, myself, Talen, guys that can do that. We want to make sure we everyone involved offensively, we keep the ball moving from one side to another, keep the defense always at bay. We’re just working through it right now which is a good thing. It’s all about the process.”
