Russell Westbrook talks about his Lakers debut in a loss το Warriors

Russell Westbrook appeared in his first game for the Los Angeles Lakers since joining the team this past summer. The 32-year-old point guard started for the purple and gold against the Golden State Warriors and played 17 minutes during which he had 2 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists. He also turned the ball over 6 times. The Lakers lost the game by 7 points (114-121) after cutting the deficit from 14 points in the final period.

After the game Russ shared his thoughts on his performance and the game as whole, saying there is still plenty of time for the Lakers to work their game out. “At least for me, just taking care of the ball,” he said. “Just looking at predetermining my passes and where they’re going. 27 turnovers sound messed up. So that’s what I got from the first half.”

“We’re not going to figure out everything right now that’s going to be figured out in the next week or two. Got a long year it’s just the preseason. First game for a lot of us since April, May or something like that. So we’ll figure it out.”
