Clippers’ rookie point guard undergoes right foot surgery

Los Angeles Clippers announced that rookie point guard Jason Preston underwent right foot surgery, which took place in Los Angeles.

The operation was to repair ligaments in Preston’s right foot. According to the team’s announcement, the rookie point guard is expected to miss an extended period of time this season.

Preston was the 33rd pick of the 2021 NBA Draft. He was one of the three picks that the LA franchise used to draft Keon Johnson and Brandon Boston alongside him.

Preston played in all five Summer League games for the Clippers, averaging 9.0 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 4.8 assists on 43.9 percent shooting from the field and 46.2 percent from beyond the arc.

The promising guard is the third Clippers’ player to be added to the injury list for the season, alongside Kawhi Leonard and Serge Ibaka.
