Nikola Jokic won’t play in Nuggets’ preseason opener against Clippers

Nikola Jokic will not play in the Denver Nuggets’ season opener vs. the Los Angeles Clippers, said head coach Michael Malone, per Mike Singer of the Denver Post.

The 2021 NBA MVP did not participate in the first part of the Nuggets training camp held at the University of California San Diego.

Malone hopes to have Jokic back after the team’s first preseason game Monday. Jokic is coming off the best season of his career, as the NBA reigning MVP.

Jokic recently became a father. He announced the good news along with his wife via his IG account. Maybe that’s the reason Jokic will not be available for the first game of the season.
