Rajon Rondo returned to the Los Angeles Lakers after one year that he split between the Atlanta Hawks and the Los Angeles Clippers. Although he has not been away for a long time, this year’s Lakers team is very different from the 2020 championship-winning team that Rondo was a part of.

The 35-year-old point guard teamed up with the likes of Russell Westbrook, Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard. He was asked which player impressed him most after day two of preseason training camp.

“You can’t say one guy,” the two-time NBA champion said. “Russ’s pace, his intensity, his competitiveness, you DJ [DeAndre Jordan] rim protection. Guys look like they open shot and DJ’s coming out of nowhere. Don’t think Melo has missed since he’s been a Laker.

“So I mean it’s everything is gelling. I’m excited to continue to see guys grow even down to the rookies. Austin Reaves is very impressive. So it’s been a great two days so far and we want to continue to build and grow each day.”
