New Orleans Pelicans superstar Zion Williamson is still recovering from the foot surgery he underwent during the offseason.

However, the Pelicans are expecting him to join the team in preseason. Therefore, the young star will likely be ready for the season start in three weeks (September 20).

“The timeline is that we’re hopeful he can start the season. Until then, it’s just a progression with him and the medical team,” head coach Willie Green told reporters Monday.

Pelicans president of basketball operations, David Griffin, revealed how Zion Williamson suffered the injury. More specifically, Griffin said Zion broke a metatarsal in his right foot during an offseason workout.
