Maccabi Tel Aviv signs Mathias Lessort to a two-month deal

Maccabi Tel Aviv signed Mathias Lessort to a two-month deal, the club announced on Monday. The Frenchman big will temporarily replace Ante Zizic, who will be sidelined for almost two months.

Lessort played for Monaco last season, helping the team win the EuroCup and secure a place in this season’s EuroLeague.

In 12 Eurocup games, the veteran center put up 12 points and grabbed more than six rebounds per contest. Lessort played for several European teams during his career including Crvena Zvezda, Bayern Munich and Unicaja Malaga.

He started his career in Chalon before moving to Nanterre in 2017. He was also selected by the Philadelphia 76ers in the second round of the NBA Draft.
