Wizards’ Rui Hachimura to miss start of training camp due to personal reasons

Washington Wizards will start training camp without Rui Hachimura, who is away from the team due to personal reasons. The Wizards’ camp starts next Thursday.

Hachimura, 23, posted averages of 13.7 points and 5.8 rebounds in his 105 games with Washington in the past two seasons. He was selected 9th in the 2019 NBA Draft by the franchise.

During this past summer, he appeared with Japan in the Tokyo Olympics, putting up impressive stats. He averaged 22.3 points, 6.7 rebounds in three appearances.

The Wizards start the preseason on October, while they will face the Toronto Raptors for their regular-season opener on October 20. In their update about Hachimura, the team claims it will provide further update around the player’s situation.
