Virtus Bologna triumphed over Armani Milano in the Final of the Italian Super Cup (90-84) and claimed the first title of the season.
The winners were in control from the opening tip and led by 17 in the third quarter (66-49). For their part, Armani attempted a comeback, but came up short in the end and lost the first major game against their rivals this season.
This was the second Super Cup trophy for Virtus Bologna and the first one since 1995. On the other hand, Armani Milano has claimed a total of Super Cup titles.
