FC Barcelona forward Alex Abrines will undergo left knee surgery, the club officially announced on Thursday.
Abrines was diagnosed with a femoropatellar injury to his left knee for which he will undergo surgery later today, FC Barcelona said in a statement.
The club will provide an update on the status of Abrines once the surgery is over. It is still unknown how long he will be sidelined.
FC Barcelona will host Murcia in the ACB opener on Sunday, while their EuroLeague opener is vs ALBA Berlin on October 1st.
