The Phoenix Suns came two wins away from the NBA championship last season and now have their sights set on going all the way for a second straight year.

Led by the star duo of Chris Paul and Devin Booker, the Suns dominated all their opponents in the Western Conference and had a 2-0 advantage in the NBA Finals. However, they collapsed and saw the Milwaukee Bucks turn things around and win the next four games to claim the title.

Despite the unfortunate outcome, Phoenix did its best to bolster its roster and emerge as title contender for the 2021/22 season. Their biggest accomplishment was the new contract of Paul, who agreed to a new, four-year deal to return to Phoenix.

Aside from the veteran All-Star, the Suns signed former champion JaVale McGee, guards Elfrid Payton and Landry Shamet and forward Chandler Hutchison.

At the same time, they re-signed Fred Kaminsky and Cameron Payne, while DeAndre Ayton, Booker, Mikal Bridges and Jae Crowder are also under contract for the new season.

The Suns have already emerged as top title contenders and the odds for the new season place them among the favorites in the Western Conference.

With sports betting becoming legal in Arizona a few days ago (September 9), people from the Grand Canyon State are excited for the opportunity to bet on their favorite teams, with a rundown of sites in Arizona available for placing their wager.

Concurrently, they can bet on the Suns for the NBA title next season, with Phoenix being within the Top 6 favorite teams with opening odds at +1400.

Phoenix starts its preseason games on October 5 vs the Sacramento Kings and will face the Lakers (October 7 and 11) and the Portland Trail Blazers (October 14) as well.

In the start of the regular season, the Suns will host the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday, October 20, as they will begin their journey for a second straight NBA Finals appearance.
