German national team named Gordon Herbert to lead the team in the 2022 Eurobasket, the Federation officially announced Monday.

Herbert signed a two-year deal to lead the team in the next big international competition. He will make his debut at the World Cup Qualifiers against Estonia on November 25.

The veteran coach has been part of several national teams including Canada as an assistant coach, Georgia (2005-07) and Finland’s U18 squad.

He spent the previous season in the VTB League with Avtodor. Herbert also worked for Aris, ALBA Berlin and Fraport Skyliners among other teams.

He also spent one season as a member of the Toronto Raptors coaching staff during the 2008-09 season.
